    RR Auction of Amherst, N.H. is planning an auction of a photo believed to be that of the huge iceberg that sunk Titanic in 1912. It estimates the value of the photo to be in range of $8,000 to $10,000.

    “Amazing and extremely rare original 9.75 x 8 photo of a uniquely-shaped ‘blueberg’ photographed by the captain of the Leyland Line steamer S. S. Etonian two days before Titanic collided with it,” according to rrauction.com.

  • Fifth Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair Opens

    November 8, 2012 – The fifth edition of one of Asia’s largest wine fairs opened today and continues through 10 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Some 950 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions are taking part in the fair, open to trade buyers only for the first two days. On the final day, 10 November, the show opens to trade and the public.

    Exhibitors from Azerbaijan, Denmark and Russia are first-time participants. Italy and France feature the largest pavilions.

  • For 160-Year-Old Steinway, Lang Lang Is a Perfect Brand for Expansion in China

    Venerable piano maker that goes back nearly 160 years sees china as an important part of its future.

    Zhang Yuan, a 26-year-old Beijing resident who has been playing the piano for about 10 years, was on the verge of drooling over the Steinway in front of her. There was an ancient dragon logo on one side of the body. On the other were Chinese calligraphy carvings. The music stand took on the shape of a traditional Chinese fan, while the stool looked like a table for the guqin, a seven-string Chinese zither.

    A Steinway piano is given some loving attention. Although sales of Steinway grand pianos have been affected by the economic recession in Western markets, the company found a new path to success as it seeks to expand in China.

  • $38 Million for 26 New MassWorks Infrastructure Projects Is Announced Today

    BOSTON – November 9, 2012 –The Patrick-Murray Administration today announced $38 million for 26 new MassWorks Infrastructure Program grants to support economic development and housing creation throughout the Commonwealth. Through these grants, the Patrick-Murray Administration will partner with cities and towns to make targeted investments in infrastructure such as roadways, streetscapes, water, and sewer to facilitate and support new and sustained housing and economic growth throughout Massachusetts. The MassWorks Program infrastructure investments are targeted to projects that require the infrastructure upgrades or expansion in order for new growth to take place.

    The IFSM 2012 Boston Contest hosted by Eclipse Mass Media (EMM) was successfully held at Royale Nightclub in the evening of Sunday, October 14, 2012.


    The two major categories of the contest are Runway Model (for contestants 5-foot and 8-inch or taller) and Photo Model for other contestants. After four-rounds of intense competition, the winner of Runway Model: Jaeyoung Lee and winner of Photo Model: Jessica Graf stood on the runway with followers on their hands and big smiles on their faces. They thanked Eclipse Mass Media for providing such a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talents. Everyone in the audience applauded and cheered loudly.
