  • With Hillary by Her Side, Coakley Rallies toward Finish Line

    Boston, Oct. 28, 2014, — With only a week left until the Nov. 4 general elections, Democratic Governor Nominee Martha Coakly and her Republican opponent Charlie Baker are campaigning across the state to make sure their supporters will come on to vote on next Tuesday. Coakley’s campaign got a boost last Friday when Hillary Clinton joined her rally in Boston, and strongly endorsed Coakley’s candidacy. Hillary told supporters that Coakley would become a great Governor for the state if elected.

  • Free Cancer Screenings Offered at Tufts Medical Center’s Fifth Annual See, Test & Treat Program on Oct. 25

    Boston, –October 20, – For the fifth straight year, Tufts Medical Center will host See, Test & Treat®, a free cervical and breast cancer screening program, funded through grants from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Foundation. The event features same-day test results, diagnoses and follow-up care for uninsured and underserved women ages 21 and older. Barbarajean Magnani, PhD, MD, FCAP, Pathologist-in-Chief at Tufts Medical Center, will lead a group of Tufts MC pathologists, OB/GYN doctors, primary care physicians and radiologists in offering this program to the Boston-area community. The event will take place on Saturday, October 25, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the OB/GYN clinic on the second floor of Tufts Medical Center’s South Building (860 Washington Street in Boston).

  • AAPI Community Turns out to Support Martha Coakley for MA Governor

    Boston, Oct. 21, 2014, –AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Community held a Rally for the MA Governor Candidate, bringing community members together to utter a collective voice on Oct. 19 in Boston Chinatown with hundreds of AAPI supporters. Governor Deval Patrick and Attorney General Martha Coakley, who is also the MA Governor Candidate, were the feature speakers. Light receptions and the Chinese lion dance at the Metropolitan Building Courtyard (38 Ash Street, Boston) lightened everybody up in the cold weather.

    Halfway through the week, we hope we can help you ease into the weekend with the Chinese Historical Society of New England’s annual banquet. Thank you Susan Chinsen for introducing tonight’s program.

    Last year we were pleased to welcome Susan as our managing director. As you’ll see in more depth in our Chronicle, in this past year, Susan and CHSNE have been very busy programming, offering a range of lectures, field trips, tours, films, theatre and other activities to reach out to the broader community and fulfill our mission. We hope you were able to join us for some of those offerings and plan to participate in more this coming program year.

    Boston, Sept. 24, 2014, –For the past a few weeks, the Crime Watch Teams of CCBA and Leather District have worked together very closely to keep both area safe. Under the leadership of Hung Goon and Larry Young, the team has increasing volunteers and purchase more equipments.
