  • Flying High! NEU’s Coco Miao Wins ATV Miss Asia Boston

    Boston, Sept. 15, 2015, — Just a couple years ago, Coco Miao worked hard at 30,000 feet above ground to bring smiles on faces of first-class passengers of China Eastern Airlines. Her beautiful smile won the hearts of the six judges and cheers and applause from 600 in the audience at John Hancock Hall Sunday night. Miss. Miao was crowned as the first ATV Miss Asia Boston winner.

  • Anthony Soto Draws Support at Chinatown Campaign Event

    Boston, August 31, 2015, — After attending the August Moon Festival, Mr. Anthony Soto, candidate for Mayor of Holyoke was back in Chinatown on August 25. Mr. Soto and his wife Lisa Wong, Mayor of Fitchburg, greeted dozens of supporters at Empire Garden Restaurant, including State Treasurer Goldberg, Vice Mayor of Cambridge Dennis Benzan, and CCBA-NE president Hung Goog.

  • Happy 88th Birthday to Madeline Wong!

    Boston, August 22, 2015, — The evening banquet of the 25th national convention of Wong Family association was held at Empire Garden restaurant in Boston Chinatown this evening. Mrs. Madeline C. Wong,a well-known working woman pioneer in the state, attended the banquet along with over 500 members and guests of the Wong Family Association. Today is also Mrs. Wong’s birthday.

  • CPA Director of Programs Mark Liu Joins Neighborhood Housing Trust

    Boston, August 14, 2015, — Mark Liu, Director of Programs and Operations at the Chinese Progressive Association, was selected by Mayor Walsh to join the Neighborhood Housing Trust Fund and sworn in today at Boston City Hall. Liu was born in the South End and now lives in Brighton.

  • The Fifth AA Day Meets ATV Miss Asia at August Moon Festival

    Boston, August 10, 2015, — Boston Chinatown was filled with food vendors, exhibition booths, lovely souvenirs, and exciting performances at yesterday’s annual August Moon Festival. Ten of thousands visitors and residents showed up for the festivities, organized by CCBA New England, on a perfect summer day. Besides the traditional lion dances and Cantonese opera, the Chinese calligraphy and music performances by ATV Miss Asia contestants at the Asian American Association of Boston (AAAB) booth drew cheers and applause from the audience.

  • The 5th Asian American Day Prep Meeting Held at CCBA in Boston Chinatown

    On July 13, the 5th Asian American Day Preparatory Meeting was held at Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) in Boston Chinatown. Klysler Yen, vice president of AAAB (Asian American Association of Boston) board attended the meeting, and his son Donnie Yen, the famous Hong Kong Kung Fu movie star, delivered his congrats and wishes to the successful hosting of the 5th Asian American Day event via his father. Director David Bai hosted the meeting. The Asian American Day aims to create a platform in order to unify Asian Americans in Boston, and to beautify Asian American communities.

  • Contestants of ATV Miss Asia Debut at NAWA Banquet in Boston Chinatown

    Boston, June 17, 2015, — Five contestants of ATV Miss Asia Pageant attended the annual banquet of National Asian Women Association (NAWA) in Boston Chinatown in the evening of June 14. Thanks to Jing Xu, runner up of 2014 Miss Asia Pageant in the US East Coast region, contestants in the Boston area can join the pageant locally this year. Van Amanda Le, president of NAWA Mass. branch, thanked the contestants for showcasing the beauty and talents of Asian Women at the banquet in front of over 200 guests.

He flew fighter plane in Southern France when I landed on Omaha Beach on D Day,” recalled Mr. Arthur Wong at a book release party for biography Late Glory at Empire Garden on April 24. Mr. Wong was speaking of his long-time friend and fellow WWII veteran Henry Oi.

  • Treasurer Goldberg Visits BCNC, Part of Her Economic Empowerment Tour
