  • Preview of the Bridge Medical Summit 2012

    Dear Friend,

The purpose of “Medicine and Development” forum is to bridge between “academia and industry”, “basic research and drug development”, “novel ideas and successful ventures”, “biotechnology and supporting fields such as investment and legal”.

There are going to be three sections:

Section 1. Drug Development: Innovation, Strategy, and Polic

Section Chairs: Drs. Alan Jiang and Long Cheng

This section of Forum will focus on the changing landscape of regulatory strategy of SFDA; an example of clinical development of an innovative drug in China; the update on Harvard-China translational research project and trendy orphan drug strategy for innovative drug R&D in biopharmaceutical industry.

Section 2. Business Development: Company Formation, Management, and Investment

Section Chairs: Drs. Jean Qiu and Yi Le

If you want to start a company, or move business to the next level, you are invited to our second section of Forum. In this section, we invited successful entrepreneurs, investors, lawyers, and accountants to discuss following questions:

How to form a company and the business transaction process?

How does a technology based company function from inside?

What takes to turn a technology into a commercial product?

What does Pharma look for when evaluating technologies?

Section 3. Personal Development: Legal issues, Technology Transfer, Collaboration and Global Market

Section Chairs: Drs. Jimmy Hao and Yajun Xu

Life is full of opportunities and risks. For physicians, researchers, business people, and others who bridge the two largest economies in the world, opportunities award the prepared and risks trap the unwary. Panelists of this section will discuss with the audience taking advantage of (or otherwise adjusting one’s own clinic and research practice to) the healthcare trends in both China and US (e.g., personal medicine) and avoiding traps (e.g., US export control violations and IP-related pitfalls) from the point views of industry leaders, technology transfer officers, lawyers, and others.

Please join us to help bridge medicine and development!
