The following is the first story published on bostonese.com about Weidong Wang's campaign. On Super Tuesday, Weidong Wang becomes the first town-wide Chinese American candidate in Lexington Having worked in this town for many years, I have a deep appreciation to the long and prestigious history of Lexington, and the spirit, talent and diversity of its residents. It's really an honor getting to know many new friends over past year at various events, including the year-long celebration of the 300th Anniversary of town of Lexington, started in September 2013.

Chinese Cultural Festival Debuts on March 9 at Newton Cultural Center
Newton, Mass. — Newton’s first citywide Chinese Cultural Festival will be held at the Newton Cultural Center at 225 Nevada Street on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 5 PM, with interesting and exciting activities for everyone. The richness of Chinese traditions and philosophies will be showcased through a kaleidoscope of exhibits, live performances, costumes, panel discussions and cultural presentations that all are invited to come to enjoy.

“Voice of Boston” and “Meet Your Right One” Add Appeal to 2013 Lunar New Year Gala

In the day-long New England Chinese Professionals 2013 Lunar New Year Gala & Community Enrichment Forum, two new segments attracted many new attendees. Despite of more than 30 inches of snow from Blizzard Nemo in many parts of New England, most participates of “Voice of Boston” and “Meet Your Right One” still showed up on time in the afternoon of Feb. 10, the Chinese New Year day of 2013.

ACLS Marks Ten Year Anniversary with Day-long Celebrations

New England Chinese Professionals Coming Together for the Lunar New Year Gala as Blizzard Nemo Leaves Town

February 10, 2013 is the New Year Day for the Lunar New Year of the snake, when Boston just began to clean up the piles of snow brought by blizzard Nemo. More than 500 Chinese professionals and guests in the New England region still converged on Newtow Marriotte hotel as scheduled, to participate in the Lunar New Year Gala and Community Enrichment Forum. Zhiyong Yang, one of the co-chairs of the event, said people’s enthusiasm melted away the ice and snow.

Malden Beats: Teen Enrichment Center Receives $2,500 Donation, Amira Market Grand Opening
Malden, Mass. -- Friends and Family of Frank “Frankie” DeCandia presented a $2,500 check to the Malden Teen Enrichment Center on behalf of the “Frank Says Hi Scholarship Foundation”, a non-profit organization founded in 2010 in the memory of Frank DeCandia, a 22 year old Malden resident who lost his courageous battle with leukemia in 2008. Frank, a lifelong Malden resident, was a student at Suffolk University studying journalism when he was diagnosed with leukemia.

West Meets East Concert To Be Held on Feb. 16 as Boston Celebrates Chinese New Year

Yan-Huang Performing Arts Corporation was established by Hong Jiang in 1999 and is a tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
In order to fulfill our mission, we have annual concert series “West Meets East”. The series are comprised of concerts where Eastern and Western music and artists are brought together to offer people an opportunity to discover and appreciate the difference, commonality, and mutual influence of the two musical worlds.
Since 1999 we have held sold-out concerts at Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall and Sanders Theater in Boston and at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York. We are proud to present the 2013 West Meets East Concert at Jordan Hall featuring some of the well-respected musicians in Boston area. It will be a great night of Chinese and Western music as we celebrate the beginning of Year of Snake, which starts on Feb. 10.
