    Boston, Nov. 2, 2013, — On a perfect autumn day in Boston, two million Red Sox fans showed up for the rolling rally for their beloved team winning 2013 World Series championship. After the duck boats passed through Boston City Hall plaza around 11:30 AM, many Sox fans would notice another rally going on near the Holocaust Memorial on their ways to pubs in Hay-market.

    Boston, Oct. 30, 2013, — Boston Herald published editorial endorsements for Boston City Council on Oct. 29, exactly a week from election day on Nov. 5. Suzanne Lee and Michelle Wu are among the candidates who got its endorsement from the paper, and their campaigns certainly got a boost in the final stretch.

  • ABC Apologizes to People of Chinese Descent Through 80-20 PAC

    80-20 PAC, which is by far the largest Asian American political action committee with an email list of 350,000 e-addresses, announced today that ABC’s top executives gave verbal and written apologies for permitting an offensive segment in “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to air.

  • Endorsements Keep Coming for Suzanne Lee

    Boston, Oct. 24, 2013, — With elections less than two weeks away, Boston City Council district 2 candidate Suzanne Lee has received endorsements from politicians in the city and the state, including three Boston City Councillors.

    “I am proud to have earned the endorsements of these Boston leaders. I look forward to working with them to strengthen all of our communities,” Suzanne Lee wrote in an email.

    Boston, October 8, 2013, — Boston Chinatown Residents Association (CRA) holds monthly meetings on first Wednesday of each month in Josiah Quincy Elementary School in Chinatown. Two final candidates for Boston Mayor: State Representative Marty Walsh and Boston City Councilor At-Large John Connolly appeared at the Oct. 2 meeting. About 100 Chinatown residents attended this meeting, and asked the candidates questions. Terry Yin, administrative director of CRA did Cantonese interpretation for the two candidates.

  • Activists Protest BRA’s Tax Break to Developer, Call for Economic Justice

    Boston, September 26, 2013, –- On City Hall Plaza today, a group of activists from the Right to the City Alliance called on the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) to have greater accountability to residents and to use public resources for the public good. On the agenda tonight for the BRA board meeting was the approval of a $7.8 million tax break to Millenium Partners, the developer of the former Filene’s site in Downtown Crossing.

  • House Passed Spending Bill That Will Likely Shut down Government

    Washington, Sept. 30, 2013, –In a 15-minute vote, U.S. House of Representatives voted 228 to 201 to pass a spending bill three and half hours before the new fiscal year begins at midnight. The irony of passing this bill is that it makes the likelihood of a government shutdown unavoidable, and shows the failure of the reported moderate Republican revolt. Twelve Republicans, including Michele Bachmanm and Peter King, and nine Democrats voted against party lines.
