  • Swimmer Helen Zhou of Westford Made to Team USA

    Boston, March 15, 2014, — Helen Zhou of Westford, Mass. was recently named to 2014 U.S. 12 and Under National squad by USA Synchro following selection trials in Pleasant Hills, Calif. Eleven-year-old Helen Zhou is a 7th grader at Westford Stony Brook middle school.

  • Boston to Host 2014 Badminton Nationals

    Boston, March 12, 2014, –USA Badminton has awarded the right to host Adult Nationals competition to the Massachusetts Badminton Association (MassBad). It will be held at the Boston Badminton Club on the last weekend in March, March 28-30. Badminton has been gaining popularity in greater Boston area over past 20 years as the Asian population grows. Chinese North American Sports Association (CNASA) has hosted annual badminton tournaments at MIT for over 10 years.

  • Sochi 2014 Closes with “Reflections of Russia”

    Sochi, Russia, Feb. 23, 2014, –The XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi ended with a Closing Ceremony in the Fisht Olympic stadium. The ceremony, which provided a bright and emotional conclusion to the Games, was dedicated to Russian culture. The audience was presented with a European vision of Russia, in a show directed by world-renowned director Daniele Finzi Pasca who became the screenwriter and director of the Sochi Olympics Closing Ceremony after joining the Russian team, which also included creative director Konstantin Ernst and executive producer Andrei Nasonovskiy.

    Boston, Feb, 11, 2014, — 2014 City of Boston League Swimming Championships was held on February 5 at Madison Park Swimming Pool in Roxbury. The top summers from O’Bryant, East Boston and Latin Academy competed against each other for a fun-filled afternoon.

The Ceremony started at exactly 20:14 Moscow Time, which symbolizes the year of the first Winter Games in Russia’s history, and in about three hours the world was told the history of a great country – Russia. The Ceremony is set to be remembered around the world thanks to its scale, entertainment, unique scenery and innovative use of technology. In total, more than 12,000 people were involved in the realization of the Opening Ceremony of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in 2014.

    (from ecns.cn) Chinese star Li Na said Saturday winning the Australian Open title was more satisfying than her Grand Slam breakthrough at the French Open because of the tough preparations that went into it.

    MELBOURNE, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) — Two-time finalist Li Na saved a match point before clawing back to record a three-set victory over Czech Lucie Safarova in the third round of the Australian Open here on Friday.

    The Chinese fourth seed, a finalist in 2011 and last year, won 1-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 in two and a half hours to set up a clash with Russian 22nd seed Ekaterina Makarova for a place in the quarter-finals.
