Grew up in Hong Kong, Connie Chan Competes for Miss Friendship Ambassador Pageant

Audience Choice Award is a new award category being introduced this year in the Miss Friendship Ambassador pageant (MFA) pageant. Each online vote is worth one point. The pageant will be held on November 3 at Hilton Chicago Hotel. That evening, guests will be given one ballot each, worth 10 points to cast their choice. The contestant who gets the most combined votes wins this award.

Contestant #5 Connie Chan (陈之莹) is a loyal reader of bostonese.com, and she has asked readers of bostonese.com to vote for her for the Audience Choice Award. Online poll opened on Oct 20, two weeks before the competition.

Graduated from Kelley School of Business, Indiana University Bloomington in 2011, Miss. Connie Chan works as Senior Finance Analyst, Model and Host. Her hobbies are travelling, swimming, painting, pottery and cooking. When ask about an interesting fact of herself, Connie said: “I was in a commercial at the age of 13 for TVB.”

Sports and arts are important aspects of Connie’s life. She practiced swimming from an early age, and won Championship in Hong Kong Lifesaving Competition. After learning ceramics for a short time, she had her works sold in Pasadena, CA and Chicago’s art galleries.


“I learned painting for over 15 years. However, my parent prefer I study business,” Connie said.

Connie also volunteers for Humane Society & SPCA, United Way, Meals from the Heart, Habitat for Humanity and other Charities.
