I was invited to the Lantern Festival party at Boston Metro-West Bible Church (BMWBC) in the evening of Feb. 8. It was a code night, but you wouldn’t even feel it sitting together with about 400 people the big hall. There was 14 performances on the program, including chorus, xiangsheng, Beijing Opera, pipa and many other holiday favorites.

The Lantern Festival is a festival celebrated the first full moon on the fifteenth day of the first month in the Chinese lunar calendar. During the Lantern Festival, children go out at night to temples carrying paper lanterns and solve riddles on the lanterns.
