Asian Women Needed for AWARE Study at BU School of Social Work

Dec. 9, 2014, — The AWARE Study (Asian Women’s Action for Resilience and Empowerment) is a research study designed to promote the mental health well-being of Asian-American Women. More Chinese-American, Vietnamese-American or Korean-American women are needed to participate in a clinical trial to develop the full AWARE intervention by participating in a group psychotherapy intervention with other Asian-American women.

Sessions will integrate the issues of culture, family, and gender which speak to Asian-American women. The essence of this treatment will highlight safety, empowerment, and will help participants develop coping skills.

To qualify to participate in our study, you must be…
  • An unmarried woman
  • 18 to 35 years of age
  • A child of an immigrant family ( Be of 1.5 or 2nd generation)
  • Chinese, Vietnamese, or Korean
