  • Manufacturing Gets a Boost from Small Business Banking Partnership – Adcotron Receives $350K Loan from East West Bank

    Boston, August 29 – Treasurer Steven Grossman today toured the premier electronic manufacturer Adcotron in South Boston, a recipient of a $350,000 loan made by East West Bank leveraged through the Treasury’s Small Business Banking Partnership. The company anticipates adding 10 new jobs because of the loan. A news conference was held in the company’s meeting room.

    【侨报周末特约记者李强波士顿报道】新英格兰地区广西同乡会于8月19日在波士顿南郊的米尔顿（Milton）镇的一个湖滨公园举办成立以来的第二次野餐聚会。来自英格兰多个州的100多位同乡们欢聚一堂，分享美食、乡音乡情和波士顿夏天的自然美景，度过了一个非常惬意的下午。

    【侨报周末特约记者李强波士顿图文报道】8月21日，记者应邀参观了莱克星顿亚裔少年宫的中文班和绘画班，杨宜芳老师和郑玥正在给孩子们上拼音和绘画课。虽然是一个炎热的夏天，孩子们还是在开着空调的教室里认真地学习。再过几天，他们就要从暑期班毕业了。

  • 《失去的岁月》波士顿首映 记录华人北美血泪移民史

    【波士顿双语网记者李强2012年8月图文报道】8月12日，《失去的岁月》（Lost Years）获得2012罗德岛国际电影节最佳纪录片。当天下午，在波士顿华埠塔夫茨大学医学院的一间大教室里，该片举行了波士顿地区的首映式。

    这部充满史实和构思独特的纪录片让华人观众感受到华人今天的地位是几代华人在过去百多年来流血流汗、不断抗争的结果。

  • Tropical Storm Isaac Delays RNC and Takes Aim at Gulf Coast

    As the path of Tropical Storm Isaac moved to the west of some earlier predictions and thus farther away from Tempa, FL, organizers of Republican National Convention (RNC) breathed a sigh of relief. However, for safety considerations, RNC was still delayed by one day, and will now start on Tuesday, August 28.

  • “美丽的闪电” – 中国股市风云20年

    １９９２年我误打误撞闯入证券界，到武汉建行的一个证券营业处当经理。因为营业处没有深沪交易所的席位，不能代理买卖股票，只能低买高卖国库券、代理销售一些企业债券。那年的夏天我到北京参加了一个现在看来级别很高的证券培训班，老师有现任国务院发展研究中心金融研究所所长的夏斌等人，对证券有了些基础认识。离京时在北京火车站广场的大屏幕上，看到了深圳人疯狂抢购新股抽签表引发骚乱的新闻，冥冥之中与深圳与股票结下了不解之缘。
