【侨报周末特约记者李强波士顿报道】7月14日晩，第75届Tanglewood音乐节开幕，马友友、詹姆斯·泰勒、约翰·威廉姆斯等知名音乐家和波士顿交响乐团，波士顿流行交响乐团和Tanglewood音乐中心交响乐团一同参加了当晩的开幕音乐会，为2万多名观众奉献了一场精彩纷呈的音乐会，拉开了为期一个半月的音乐节的序幕。

Massachusetts Goes Green – Over 100 Cities and Towns Are Now Green Communities
BOSTON – Tuesday, July 24, 2012 – Governor Deval Patrick today joined state and local officials to announce that Massachusetts is now home to over 100 Green Communities. At an event at the State House, the Governor announced the designation of 17 new Green Communities, bringing the total number up to 103 cities and towns. Nearly half of Massachusetts residents, or 44 percent, now live in a Green Community.

【侨报周末特约记者李强波士顿报道】继书记朱善璐和副校长王恩哥相继到访之后，波士顿又迎来了一位北大学者。
7月13日，北京大学生命科学学院的饶毅教授在哈佛大学医学院吉米基金会礼堂同300多位听众做了以“回国感言”为题的演讲，分享他自己的海归经验，并鼓励中国留学生和访问学者回国发展。

The 9th Annual Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival – Cool Place Amid Heat Wave

The 9th Annual Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival was held from July 12 to 15, 2012, amid of a 7-day heat wave in the Boston area in Revere Beach, Mass. Over half million spectators visited the 4-day festival. Tourists enjoyed the beautiful sand sculptures by artists, new features including the interactive Kid’s Zone and Learning Center, the hearty and healthy beach-side food pavilion, and sea breezes from the Atlantic Ocean.

Michael Chang Hopes “Linsanity” to Continue in Houston

NEWPORT BEACH, California–Former world No. 2 tennis player Michael Chang, a professional who once carried the hope of his fellow Asian Americans, expressed the hope Sunday that “Linsanity” will continue after Jeremy Lin starts playing for the Houston Rockets.
Before Jeremy Lin (林書豪), Chang (張德培) was perhaps the most famous American athlete of Chinese descent. After retiring from professional tennis, Chang has been involved in the training of several young tennis players.(CNA)
