Farewell to My Favorite Ballerina Misa Kuranaga
(Note: Misa Kuranaga, 倉永美沙, is a Japanese ballerina at the Boston Ballet. Before joining Boston Ballet in 2003 she was a member of the San Francisco Ballet. In Boston she was promoted to soloist in 2005 and to principal dancer in 2009.)

Presidential Message on the 150th Anniversary of the Golden Spike

One hundred fifty years ago, the first transcontinental railroad in the United States was completed, and our Nation was changed forever. On May 10, 1869, the final golden spike was driven into the ground at Promontory Summit, Utah, joining the tracks of the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railroads. This unbroken rail line of nearly 2,000 miles from Omaha, Nebraska, to Sacramento, California, connected the existing eastern rail network to the western states and territories, enabling passengers and goods to travel from coast to coast more economically and in as little as a week.

Cai and Team Encore Win Theatre On Ice International Championship
Boston, May 1, 2019, — Grace KelsangMetog Cai and her Encore team just won 2019 Theatre On Ice International Championship in Epinal, France on April 27, 2019. Grace and her teammates were very proud when they saw American flag rising with the Star Spangled Banner at the award ceremony.
Grace KelsangMetog Cai is straight A student at Oak Hill Middle School in Newton, Mass., and a member of the school math team. “Kelsangmetog” is Tibetan for Lucky Flower. Her mother’s side family is from Tibet, China. Although Tibet is known as snow-land, figure skating is a rare sport to participate in there. Her mother graduated from Boston College with Master in Accounting and Simmons College with Master in Business Administration. Her father is from Guangdong, China and a Tsinghua university graduate.
