Mayor Walsh Issues Tips for Residents in Advance of Bitterly Cold Weather
BOSTON – Tuesday, December 26, 2017 – Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced a set of tips and guidelines in advance of this week’s forecast of bitterly cold weather. Forecasters are predicting low temperatures throughout the week with the coldest period Wednesday night into Thursday morning and Thursday night into Friday morning. With the wind chill, frostbite can occur within 30 minutes.

Boston Chinatown to Hold Nanjing Massacre Candle Light Vigil
Wednesday, December 13, 2017 marks the 80th Anniversary of the “Nanking Massacre” aka “Rape of Nanking”.
Chinese American Citizen’s Alliance (CACA) Boston Lodge will be holding a peaceful candle light vigil at Chinatown Gateway Park from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM on that evening.

Mayor Walsh and ACDC Celebrate Ribbon Cutting of 88 Hudson Street in Chinatown
Boston, Nov. 28, 2017 – Mayor Martin J. Walsh today joined the Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) and Chinatown residents to celebrate the ribbon cutting of 88 Hudson Street, a development that created 51 affordable new condominiums for working families in Chinatown.

CPA Calls Chinatown Residents to Exercise Voting Rights

CPA has endorsed Ed Flynn in Boston City Council District 2 election, which is hotly contested with current City Councilor Bill Linehan retiring.

Secretary Acosta Presents Awards to MA Businesses Offering English Language Classes
Oct. 24, 2017, Boston, — Last week, Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Rosalin Acosta, spoke to a packed room of business leaders, immigrants, and English language program providers at Northeastern University. She was there to present awards at an event organized by English for New Bostonians to businesses that provide English classes for their immigrant workers, but she also had a personal message to share.

Mother and Son Piano Concert Raises $7,500 for BCNC

Boston, Oct. 10, 2017, — World Class pianists, Michelle Chen Kuo and her son, Christopher Kuo, performed a duo piano concert at David Friend Recital Hall in Boston on October 7 to benefit Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center(BCNC). The concert raised $7,500 to support BCNC programs for children, youth, and families. Sponsors include Sun Life Financial, Cathay Bank, the Rosenberg Institute of East Asian Studies at Suffolk University, and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office of Boston.

Grace Cai and The Skating Club of Boston Raise Fund to Eliminate Cancer

Inspired to change the impact of cancer on the lives of those in our Club community, The Skating Club of Boston and its Theatre On Ice of Boston program are inviting all Club members to partner with them and the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation to Turn Cancer Upside Down. Funds raised for the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation support cancer research, education, and survivorship with 20% of the funds raised through this Club initiative going directly to two of our local, world-class institutions: Mass General Cancer Center and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

Mayor Walsh Signs Jim Brooks Community Stabilization Act
