Boston, May 1, 2016, — More than 40,000 people came together on the Boston Common to make a powerful statement about hunger in Massachusetts today. In addition to the scenic 10-mile Walk course along the Charles River, this year the Walk for Hunger kicked off with a 5k timed race starting on the Boston Common.

From Vietnam to Boston, Amanda Le Empowers Immigrant Women
Boston, April 29, 2016, — Van Amanda Le, Chairwoman of National Asian Women‘s Association, was born to a Chinese family in Vietnam. She immigrated United States in 1985 and has distinguished herself by serving Boston’s Asian-American community for the past 23 years. She has had significant impact on the lives of many members of vibrant community through her involvement in the implementation and expansion of programs designed to increase Asian-American Bostonians awareness and utilization of available health care programs, and identifying and removing barriers to those programs. Miss. Le will be one of the panelists for the Surging Waves Symposium to be held at the Tsai Auditorium of Harvard Fairbanks Center on 1730 Cambridge St. this Saturday.

Beatrice Lee, Panelist of Surging Waves Symposium
Beatrice Chao Lee (Chao Chung-Ying) was born in Nanjing, China. As a child, she lived with her military family in many cities in Mainland China until 1949, when her family moved to Taiwan where Beatrice finished high school. At the age of 19, Beatrice flew to America to attend the College of Mount St. Vincent in Riverdale, New York on a four year scholarship. On June 1, 1954 Beatrice received her B.A. in Social Studies with a minor in Fine Arts and two weeks later she married Raymond Lee, a chemical engineer from Shanghai whom she had dated for 3 years.

World Tea Day Draws Crowds at Harvard and MIT
