    Boston Nov. 22, 2015, — I went to St. James Church in Boston Chinatown this morning, and met a lot of old friends and took a lot of pictures. Also went next door to Tuft’s Auditorium for a Chinese documentary movie. The afternoon event was very well attended.

  • Hui Weng Performs at Asian Cultural Center as Photo Exhibit of Xinjiang, China Opens

    Cambridge, Mass., Nov. 23, 2015, — Photo exhibition Record of 24 hours in Xinjiang opened Friday evening at Asian Cultural Center Boston on 1035 Cambridge St. About 100 invited guests attended the opening ceremony. About 70 photographs of Xinjiang’s unique landscape and diverse culture were on display in the Panda Studio &b Art Gallery at the newly renovated Asian Cultural Center.

  • BPL’s American Revolution Exhibition Crosses the 100,000 Visitor Mark

    Boston, Nov. 19, 2015, — On Friday, the Norman B. Leventhal Map Center’s newest exhibition, We Are One: Mapping America’s Road from Revolution to Independence welcomed its 100,000th visitor since opening in May at the Boston Public Library. The exhibition is the most successful in the Map Center’s history, and has been visited by individuals from 46 states and 51 countries. We Are One closes its doors on November 29 before moving to Colonial Williamsburg in 2016.

  • Boston Chinese Community Marks 149th Birthday of Sun Yat-sen

    Boston, Nov. 12, 2015, — Today is the birthday of Sun Yat-sen (Nov. 12, 1866 – March 12, 1925), first president and founding father of the Republic of China. The painting below was created by artist Minghuang Zhang to honor Mr. Sun’s birthday. The photo was taken recently at Empire Auction Inc. office in Boston Chinatown.

  • Pianist George Li Returns to NPR’s From The Top

    Boston, Oct. 23, 2015, — Harmony Zhu, 9-year-old piano prodigy from New Jersey, recently visited Jordan Hall of New England Conservatory (NEC). She participated in the From The Top recording of National Public Radio (NPR) and shared the stage with George Li, who won the silver medal at the 15th Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition. This edition of From the Top will be released to NPR stations around the nation on November 30.

  • International Seminar on WWII Documentary Under Bayonets and Barbed Wire Held in Beijing

    In the afternoon of September 28, 2015, studio No.2 of China Film Group (CFG) was crowded with people from diverse background. Professionals from the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, Chinese Federation of Literacy and Art Circles (CFLAC), China Literary Criticism Center, State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of PRC(SARFT),People’s Daily Press, CCTV, China Film Association, Xinhua News Agency, People.cn, CNR, ifeng, China.com, China Research Center for International Economic Development, China Business Journal, China Biographical Literature Association and Central University of Finance and Economics etc., as well as friends from France, the United States, Singapore, Britain, Indian and Spain gathered together to watch , a US-China co-produced film. The film play was followed by a heated discussion on the social implication, shooting and expression technique of the film. Last night, No.2 studio of CFG was fortunate enough to have witnessed a clash of values and insights between the east and the west.

  • History Making — Yellow River Grand Concert at BU

    Boston, Oct. 12, 2015, — The Yellow River Cantata grand concert was held at the Agganis Arena at Boston University last night to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese Peoples War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. Over 1,000 singers from cities across North America and the 200-member band created the largest musical performance in history by Chinese art groups in North America. Over 5,000 in the audience were immersed in echoes of the heavy gales and torrential waves of the Yellow River at the time of war and fresh interpretations of the masterpiece by the Chinese composer Xian Xinghai.

  • Amazing Pictures from 2015 Harvard China Day

    Harvard Chinese Student & Scholar Association (HCSSA)presented the 2015 Harvard China Day in the afternoon of Oct. 4 outside the Science Center in Harvard campus. Art groups from Harvard, and renowned artists in great Boston area, such as one of the top suona musicians of China Yazhi Guo, erhu artist Tao He, the first musician majoring in guzheng at NEC Ms. Weng Hui and models from Boston Qipao Association. Hundreds of Harvard students and spectators cheered the wonderful performances and visited the art exhibitions at the Science Center plaza.
