  • Over 1,000 Singers to Perform at Yellow River Cantata Grand Concert on Oct. 11

    Boston, Oct. 2, 2015, — The Yellow River Cantata grand concert will be held at the Agganis Arena at Boston University on October 11, 2015 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese Peoples War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. Over 1,000 singers from cities across North America will gather in Boston, and the Agganis Arena near the bank of Charles River is expected to be packed with an audience of 6,500.

  • Art Groups, ATV Miss Asia Contestants Rock the Fifth AA Day

    Boston, Sept. 28, 2015, — The Fifth AA Day event was successfully held at Boston Marriott Burlington on Sept. 20. Many local art and cultural groups participated in this annual event to celebrate the cultural heritage of Asian Americans as the Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corning. Over 600 guests showed up for the event presented by Asian American Association of Boston and its 12 partner orgnizations. State Senator Jason Lewis, State Rep. Donald Wong and Selectman of Town of Burlington Robert Hogan were on hand to offer citations to Asian American Association of Boston. CCBA-NE president Hung Goon and Nam Pham representing Quincy Mayor also made congratulatory speeches.

    This is my go-to place for lunch at work. It can be busy at lunch hours on weekdays. The atmosphere of the place was calm for a later afternoon snack-meal yesterday. I enjoyed the soft rock songs on a Pandora playlist displayed on a screen.

  • Flying High! NEU’s Coco Miao Wins ATV Miss Asia Boston

    Boston, Sept. 15, 2015, — Just a couple years ago, Coco Miao worked hard at 30,000 feet above ground to bring smiles on faces of first-class passengers of China Eastern Airlines. Her beautiful smile won the hearts of the six judges and cheers and applause from 600 in the audience at John Hancock Hall Sunday night. Miss. Miao was crowned as the first ATV Miss Asia Boston winner.

  • Desert River Concert at Jordan Hall Features China’s Louis Armstrong — Yazhi Guo

    Boston, Sept. 10, 2015, — Foundation for Chinese Performing Arts will present Desert River concert at NEC’s Jordan Hall on Sept. 26. Mr. Yazhi Guo, also known as China’s Louis Armstrong and one of the best suona players in China, will showcase his take on Jazz music after studying at Berklee College of Music for past three years.

  • Chinese Animation Captain of Flying Tigers to Air on TV

    Beijing, August 31, 2015, — A Chinese animation about the American “Flying Tigers” air squadron, which helped the Chinese fight the Japanese during World War II, is expected to hit TV screens in September. This was announced at a new conference recently in Beijing. China has declared Sept. 3 as Victory Day national holiday to mark the 70th anniversary of the 70th anniversary of the official ceremony of Japan’s unconditional surrounder at the end of WWII.
