    Boston, June 7, 2016, — The Chinese American Citizen Alliance (CACA) Boston Lodge hosted its inaugural U.S. Senator George Frisbie Hoar Award Gala on June 5 at the Empire Garden Restaurant. The event honored Chinese American elected officials in the greater Boston area.

  • Dragon’s Teeth Previewed as Arthur Wong Was Honored

    Boston, June 11, 2016, — Boston Bilingual Media & Publishing (BBMP) Inc. held a book preview party at Empire Garden restaurant in Chinatown at noon time on June 5. Dragon’s Teeth – Arthur Wong’s Journey from Taishan to Normandy was previewed at the party with about 60 people attending. State Rep. Tackey Chan and Annie Qin, representing Boston City Council President Michelle Wu brought citations for the 72th anniversary of Mr. Wong’s landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6. 1944.

  • Suzanne Lee to Receive an Honorary Doctorate at 2016 UMass Boston Commencement

    Boston, May 12, 2016, — Longtime community leader, and honorary Chairwomen of Chinese Progressive Association Suzanne Lee will receive an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Massachusetts at UMass Boston’s spring commencement this year on May 26 at 3 PM at Clark Athletic Center on UMass Boston Campus.

  • Frank and Kathleen Chin Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at KKCS’ Centennial Celebration

    Boston, May 2, 2016, — Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chin were honored at the 100th Anniversary celebration of Kwong Kow Chinese School(KKCS) at Marriott Hotel at Copley Place in Boston Back Bay on April 29. About 500 guests, including Gov. Baker and President of Boston City Council Michelle Wu, celebrated this special occasion.

  • Mt. Hope Cemetery to Provide Offering Tables during Ching Ming Festival

    The Chinese Historical Society of New England (CHSNE) and Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England (CCBA) have gained cooperation from the City of Boston to have offering tables available for Ching Ming (spring) and Ching Yau (fall).

  • Henry Yee, Longtime Chinatown Activist, Dies at 88

    Mr Henry Yee, a beloved Chinatown community activist, passed away Saturday (March 19) afternoon peacefully. He was admitted to South Cove Nursing home a month ago with health issue and turned worst last few weeks. His age was 88.

    The first lecture of Singtao Meiya Book Club was held on Dec. 19, 2015 at Singtao Daily office in Boston Chinatown. Ms. Shuping Yao, Mr. Bin Liu and Mr. Tianhan Guo were the three speakers for this event. This is the first ever lecture by the Singtao Meiya Book Club.
