  • AACE Urges the College Board to Halt Expansion of the SAT Adversity Score

    Livingston, New Jersey, June 3, 2019,  — Asian  Coalition for Education (AACE) recently issued an official letter to Mr. David Coleman, CEO of College Board, urging the College Board to halt its hasty proposal of expanding the “S.A.T. Adversity Score” to 150 more colleges nationwide before conducting a thorough review with Asian American communities who has a high stake in this important change. Although AACE wholeheartedly welcomes the College Board’s benign direction of constructing a system of “Adversity Score” in place of racial preferences, we strongly believe that applying the system UNIVERSALLY with no transparency and no proven scientific evidence is imprudent and dangerous. If implemented, this practice of social engineering will result in grave harms to Asian-American children who are already punished by racial preferences in college admissions.

  • Cai and Team Encore Win Theatre On Ice International Championship

    Boston, May 1, 2019, — Grace KelsangMetog Cai and her Encore team just won 2019 Theatre On Ice International Championship in Epinal, France on April 27, 2019. Grace and her teammates were very proud when they saw American flag rising with the Star Spangled Banner at the award ceremony.


    Grace KelsangMetog Cai is straight A student at Oak Hill Middle School in Newton, Mass., and a member of the school math team. “Kelsangmetog” is Tibetan for Lucky Flower. Her mother’s side family is from Tibet, China. Although Tibet is known as snow-land, figure skating is a rare sport to participate in there. Her mother graduated from Boston College with Master in Accounting and Simmons College with Master in Business Administration. Her father is from Guangdong, China and a Tsinghua university graduate.

    In 2019, CCCC offers multiple summer programs at two different campuses – Our Lady’s Academy (920 Trapelo Rd, Waltham) and CCCC Headquarters (425 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham).

    CCCC’s 24th Chinese Culture Summer Program at Our Lady’s Academy offers three two-week sessions (Jul. 8-19; Jul. 22-Aug. 2; Aug. 5-16) in our air-conditioned school facility for children 6 years or older (as of Jun. 30, 2019) from the U.S. and abroad. Each session features a variety of classes and activities, and takes place Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Daily hot lunch will be provided. Students will get to meet friends, develop independence and confidence, and have a lot of fun. It is a summer to remember.

  • Harvard Study: Push-up Capacity A Health Indicator for Men

    Boston, MA – Active, middle-aged men able to complete more than 40 push-ups had a significantly lower risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) outcomes—including diagnoses of coronary artery disease and major events such as heart failure—during 10 years of follow-up compared with those who were able to do less than 10 push-ups during the baseline exam.

  • UMass Boston Intends to Strengthen Collaboration with Chinese Universities

    Boston, Jan. 22, 2019, — As the Spring semester starts for local colleges this week, UMass Boston has closed its Confucius Institute, which boasts of a history of 12 years. The news resonated strongly on campus and in the community. Professors, staff, students and members of the community expressed deep regret over the university’s action and some called that the closure of the Confucius Institutes was a sign of “political correctness”.
