Quincy, Mass., Dec. 24, 2015, — Taiwan Benevolent Association of Greater Boston’s Christmas Party was held at China Pearl restaurant in Quincy on Dec. 22. About 300 members and guests enjoyed a night of music and dance. Hung Goon, President of CCBA New England, handed out gifts in a Santa Clause custom.

Chinese Consulate Hosts 2016 New Year Reception in Boston

Boston, Dec. 29, 2015, — Close to 300 guests attended 2016 New Year Reception at Boston Harbor Hotel hosted by Chinese Consulate General in New York yesterday evening. Ambassador Zhang Qiyue, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate, delivered a speech that highlighted the achievements in Sino-US relations over the past year. Representatives of Gov. Baker and Mayor Walsh along with elected officials attended the reception.

Mayor Walsh Offers Holiday Greetings in Boston Chinatown

Gov Baker Invites Public to State House Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Open House
Boston, Nov. 25, 2015, — Governor Charlie Baker and Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito welcome members of the public and their families to attend the annual State House Christmas tree lighting ceremony and Holiday Open House on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The theme of the Open House, “Make it a Massachusetts Holiday!,” will showcase Massachusetts farmers, food producers, agricultural partners and tourism venues. Guests will also be able to enjoy holiday carols and a special visit from Santa Claus.

On Sunday, November 22, Governor Charlie Baker and First Lady Lauren Baker were in Boston to volunteer with Boston Rescue Mission. As part of the 23rd Annual “Day of Thanks,” the Governor and First Lady joined the Reverend John Samaan, President and CEO of the Boston Rescue Mission, along with dozens of volunteers and Mission staff in serving complete Thanksgiving meals to homeless families. Dozens of needy families also took home baskets filled with turkeys and all the trimmings to their own dinner tables(from mass.gov).

Hui Weng Performs at Asian Cultural Center as Photo Exhibit of Xinjiang, China Opens

Cambridge, Mass., Nov. 23, 2015, — Photo exhibition Record of 24 hours in Xinjiang opened Friday evening at Asian Cultural Center Boston on 1035 Cambridge St. About 100 invited guests attended the opening ceremony. About 70 photographs of Xinjiang’s unique landscape and diverse culture were on display in the Panda Studio &b Art Gallery at the newly renovated Asian Cultural Center.
