    Boston, April 27, 2015, — Dozens of Chinese Americans rallied in front of MA State House Sunday afternoon to protest serious charges filed against NYPD Officer Peter Liang after he accidentally shot a Black man Akai Gurley dead in a NYC housing project. Rookie Officer Liang was indicted with second degree homocide along with other serious charges on Feb. 12, 2015.

  • Prime Minister Abe Arrives Boston for Week-long Visit to the U.S.

  • Hundreds Call for New Housing Policies in Boston

    Boston, April 7, 2015, — “Up with the wages, down with the rents!” rang the shouts of tenants and community activists as they marched into City Hall Plaza this afternoon. Led by tenants who have been forced out of their homes by speculative developers, the march began on Hudson Street in Chinatown, where protesters called on First Suffolk LLC to halt its acquisition of historic brick row houses that threatens to displace low income immigrant families. Chinatown has experienced skyrocketing real estate values following the addition of nearly 3,000 luxury units in the past 15 years.

  • Residents March from Chinatown to City Hall for “Right to Remain”

    BOSTON (April 6, 2015) – Displaced tenants will march from Chinatown’s row houses on Hudson Street to join residents and activists from across the city at a Right to Remain Press Conference on City Hall Plaza on Tuesday, April 7.  After the press event, they will join a public Hearing to Discuss Displacement, Community Stability and Neighborhood Preservation, sponsored by Boston City Councilor Tito Jackson.

  • Ambassador Lippert in Great Spirits After Attack


    On Thursday, March 5, 2015, in Seoul, U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Mark Lippert underwent surgery to treat wounds to his face and hand following an assault earlier that day. He is currently recovering in the hospital. As the Ambassador tweeted Thursday afternoon from Seoul, he is doing well and in great spirits.
