Ice Skater Grace Cai Selected to Perform Solo at Boston Holiday Shows

Boston, Nov. 1, 2019,– Grace Kelsangmetog Cai is a student at Oakhill Middle School in Newton,MA. “Kelsangmetog” is Tibetan for Lucky flower. She started skating at age 4 with the Skating Club of Boston’s Skating Academy.


Grace is honored to be selected to perform solo at both 2019 Frog pond Skating Spectacular shows. The holiday shows are
Boston Common Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 5:00pm, and First Night Boston on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 6:00pm.




Grace competed at the Juvenile Girls event at the 2020 New England Regional Singles Challenge and made final round. Her head coach Simon Shnapir is an Olympic medalist.

Grace has skated for seven years on two of Boston’s Theatre on Ice teams, Center Stage and Encore, that each won medals at the National Theatre on Ice Competitions. Grace and her Encore team just won both 2019 Theatre On Ice International Championship in Epinal, France and 2019 National Theatre on Ice Championship in Birmingham, Alabama. Becky Stump is the head coach for the program.

Grace does volunteer work in the community regularly including skating shows for charities and coaching at therapeutic skating program. She earned the 2019 President’s Service Volunteer Award Gold Medal.
