第十届中华杯高球赛王大明夺得A组冠军

【波士顿华人高尔夫球协会王庆供稿】第十届波士顿华人高尔夫球锦标赛（中华杯）于2013年9月29日周日在Stow Acres 高尔夫球俱乐部举行。当天的天气非常晴朗，气温适宜。波士顿郊外秋天碧蓝的天空，和球场上青青的绿草，伴随着球手们一路好心情，顺利地起打完了十八洞。

CCBA Receives $5000 Check from Chinatown Main Street

Boston, Sept. 30, 2013, — During last Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) bi-monthly board meeting, Chinatown Main Street (CMS) President Tony M. Yee and Executive Director Courtney Ho-Ha presented a check of $5000 to CCBA President Rick Wong and Executive Officers, and CCBA became the community partner of the Chinatown Streets cleaning program.

校长王恩哥：谱写北大新乐章（视频）

【波士顿华人双语网特约记者李心茗报道】9月29日，第六届北京大学北美校友代表大会暨“北大论坛”在哈佛大学燕京图书馆举行。来自全美各地和加拿大的十几个北京大学校友会的200多名校友代表，同校长王恩哥带领的母校代表团，以及俞敏洪领队的企业家代表团经行了深入的交流。美国前劳工部长赵小兰、哈佛大学校长德鲁福斯特为本次盛会发来贺信。

北大新英格兰校友会臧充之会长在致欢迎词中指出，北大论坛的目的是展现北大校友风采，分享校友人生与职业发展的经历，增进北大与北美各界的交流。

Dr. John Wong of Tufts Medical Center Receives $1 Million PCORI Award

Boston, Oct. 3, 2013 -– John B. Wong, MD, Chief of the Division of Clinical Decision Making at Tufts Medical Center, has been approved to receive a research award of more than $1 million over three years from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to fund his work on improving comparative effectiveness research (CER) methods. The study is part of a portfolio of projects that will advance the field of patient-centered CER and provide patients with information that will help them make better-informed decisions about their care. Wong’s research proposal was among only 14% of applications selected by PCORI to receive funding.

【波士顿华人双语网李强报道】专程从江苏淮阴师范学院前来参加波士顿第三届亚美节的中国知名青年琵琶演奏家孙雁雁日前在莱克星顿镇中心的扬子江餐厅接受了记者的专访。刚刚参加完第三届亚美节演出的孙雁雁显得非常放松。身材高挑、笑容可掬的她没有了演出时那份凝重和深沉。她告诉记者将在回国之前到美东一带旅游购物。

The Changing Face of Cervical Cancer in China, A 10-year Study by Tongji Medical College

Durham, NC (PRWEB) September 24, 2013, –Over the last few decades, China, like the majority of the world, has seen a steady decrease in deaths from cervical cancer, due in large part to screening efforts and improved treatment. However, the disease still poses a significant threat to women, as it remains the third most common and among the most deadly cancers in women worldwide, with a third of new cases occurring in China. Moreover, the incidence of the disease has increased among young women. These trends signal the need for a large-scale, thorough assessment of the cervical cancer landscape in China – a database that did not exist until recently.

《安放在胶囊公寓的青春》背后的故事

【编者注：朱熙勇，1996年毕业于华中科技大学，是该校记者团历史上第一位摄影记者，现任《楚天都市报》摄影部副主任。2013年第九届国际新闻摄影比赛，朱熙勇拍摄的《安放在胶囊公寓里的青春》获得2012年度经济及科技类组照金奖，成为此次获得金奖的3名内地摄影师之一。】

2012年，朱熙勇从同事口中得知在武汉市一个城中村内有一个“胶囊公寓”，租户多为刚刚走出校园，在武汉艰苦打拼的年轻人。朱熙勇嗅到了这个时代特有的味道：高校扩招后，农村学生纷纷涌入城市。而城市土地有限，房子少房价高，刚毕业的年轻人无力承担高额房费，只能蜗居在小小的胶囊公寓里。
