    【中新网7月30日电】香港《文汇报》援引外电消息称，美国麻州年仅9岁的香港移民之女卡里莎·叶(Carissa Yip)，自3年前开始跟父亲学玩国际象棋，棋艺不断增进，数周前更以超过2,000分的佳绩，成为拥有5.1万名会员的美国国际象棋协会(USCF)中最年轻专家级棋手，实力胜过其余93%会员。小女孩的目标是晋升大师级，更希望有朝一日成为美国首位女棋王。

  • 李素影：一生为弱势群体发声

  • 雷京澄少年高球锦标赛夺冠 乒乓球对抗赛西郊队连胜

    【侨报周末特约记者李强波士顿报道】入夏以来，波士顿地区尽管天气比往年炎热，但各项体育赛事仍然吸引了许多华人参加。在7月31日结束的麻州少年高尔夫球锦标赛中，家住麻州米德尔顿(Middleton)镇 ，今年16岁的雷京澄(Paul Lei)经过3轮的紧张比赛，一举夺得冠军。而此前在波士顿乒乓球对抗赛中，波士顿西郊圣经教会和剑桥中文学校的高手们也进行了主客场两轮激烈的较量。

  • Outrage Prevails at Boston Mayoral Candidate Housing Forum

    Boston, August 6, 2013, — More than 250 people from across the city filled the Quincy School auditorium in Chinatown as seven candidates of the “New Boston” persuasion courted votes at the Why We Can’t Wait mayoral candidate forum on housing and land issues sponsored by Right to the City VOTE and the Boston Tenant Coalition. Banners and protest signs hung on the stage with slogans like “Remain. Reclaim. Rebuild.” and “Public land for the public good.”

    【波士顿双语网实习记者张淑芝、记者李强波士顿图文报道】北大新英格兰校友会第18期博雅论坛、未名紫荆第39期日前在哈佛大学生物实验大楼举行，主题为“一个北大人眼中的当代中国”，由北大校友白文涛主讲。教室里的数十位听众除了在哈佛求学的北大学子之外，也有不少慕名而来的听众，他们有的是已经工作的，有的刚来美国留学。

  • ACDC Announces Films at the Gate, September 13-15

    Boston, MA, August 5, 2013 – Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) hosts its 8th annual Films at the Gate from Friday to Sunday, September 13-15 at Chinatown Park beside the Gate on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. This is a free, outdoor film festival showcasing family-friendly kung fu films. Each evening begins at 7:00 PM with cultural performances and an 8pm start for the feature film.

  • 铜星闪烁 二战英雄黄君裕追忆移民沧桑

    【波士顿双语网记者李强波士顿图文报道】1944年11月，美军进攻德国本土。在激战中身负重伤的黄君裕（Arthur Wong），退伍65年之后才在前联邦参议员克里的帮助下获得紫心勋章、铜星勋章等9枚美军最高奖章。日前，黄君裕又收到临时参议员考文的来信，并随信寄上一枚新的铜星勋章，原来黄君裕2010年得到的铜星勋章上没有刻上他的名字。拥有两枚铜星勋章的人在美国恐怕是屈指可数吧。

    7月30日下午，记者由江天源先生陪同到波城华埠黄老的家中，祝贺他再次获得铜星勋章，并就他早年的移民生活做了访谈。今年90岁的黄老非常健谈，移民美国75年的沧桑岁月依然历历在目。
