    Amy Kao was recently selected as Miss New Jersey National US 2013. She will be competing in the 2014 Miss National US pageant in San Antonio next summer. Miss National US Incorporated (MNUS) is a national, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses on community outreach and educational scholarships. It is a leadership program for young women and teens.

  • 白先勇應邀出席中華專協10月年會

    【僑報周末特約記者李強波士頓報道】7月13日，紐英倫中華專業人員協會假首席顧問蔣宗壬博士家中召開董事會議。遊子揚會長宣布了今年年會預定於10月26日（周六）於劍橋市舉行，並邀請到重量級演講嘉賓。

    會中，董事們回顧今年以來NEACP所參與以及舉辦的數場活動，包括牛頓市台灣日、頂大學人專題學術演講、電影欣賞、以及張重華董事長發起的支持原住民教育的”送暖到台東”活動等。與會者特別有興緻地回顧了不久前在麻省理工學院段馨君博士題為“劇場藝術：戲劇化莎士比亞”的演講。

  • Arthur Wong Receives Second Bronze Star

    Boston, August 2, 2013, — Arthur Wong was among the first groups of American soldiers who landed on Normandy Beach on June 6, 1944, and was later seriously injured in November 1944 when the Allied Forces advanced into Germany. Sixty-five years after he returned from WWII battlegrounds, Arthur Wong finally received nine U.S. military medals, including Purple Heart, Bronze Star, with the help from Senator John Kerry in 2010.

  • 黄定国摄影作品入选艺术家联展 摩顿市府收藏

    【侨报周末特约记者李强波士顿图文报道】波士顿华埠知名摄影家、北美艺术家协会主席黄定国（Eadwn Huang）的作品近来接连引起主流社会的关注。目前正在佛莱明罕镇（Framingham）举行的主题为“无限”(No Limit)的艺术家联展中，黄定国的两幅摄影作品入选，是参展的36位艺术家中唯一的华人。而摩顿市政府上周宣布正式收藏黄定国拍摄的摩顿风光照。

  • US Holds First Offshore Lease Auction as Wind Power Advances

    Washington, August 1, 2013 —- As part of the Obama administration’s comprehensive plan to move the U.S. economy toward domestic clean energy sources and cut carbon pollution, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Director Tommy P. Beaudreau July 31 held the nation’s first competitive lease sale for renewable energy in federal waters.

    【波士顿双语网记者李强图文报道】7月20日上午，记者陪同波士顿台山乡亲联谊会会长李照桃和多位乡亲驱车两个小时前往缅因州海滨渡假圣地威尔斯（Wells）镇的东方红餐馆，向不久前获邀出席年底在北京举行的世界中国烹饪联合会（简称世烹联）大会的东主李日腾表示祝贺。李照桃代表台山乡亲感谢李日腾对联谊会的大力支持，并赠送了感谢信和礼物。

  • P&G/Gillette Donates Land to Artists For Humanity

    BOSTON, July 30, 2013 –- Artists For Humanity (AFH), an organization that provides under-resourced youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in the arts, today announced a land gift from its neighbor and partner Gillette/Procter & Gamble. This generous donation will enable AFH, currently among the largest employers of teens in Boston’s creative economy, to expand its current facility in South Boston’s Innovation District and significantly increase highly-sought positions in its youth employment programs.
