  • Mayor Walsh Swears in as 54th Mayor of Boston, Appoints Key Staff Members

    Boston, Jan. 6, 2013, — Before a crowd of thousands, including residents, supporters, political leaders, faith leaders and dignitaries, Mayor Martin J. Walsh this morning took the oath of office and was sworn in as the 54th Mayor of the City of Boston. In a ceremony that also included the swearing-in of the Boston City Council, Mayor Walsh delivered his inaugural address, committing to moving a united Boston forward, a City that provides community, opportunity, and equality to all its citizens.   • 北美多地创历史最低气温 波士顿多处发生水管爆裂

    【波士顿华人双语网记者李强1月7日综合报道】2014年元旦刚过，严寒低温天气席卷美国东北和中部地区，以及加拿大多个省。近日来，美国和加拿大部分地区创下有气象记录以来历史最低温度。美国仅1月4日就有3700架航班被取消，多州学校停课，人们被建议呆在室内，纽约州部分主要公路关闭，印第安纳州西北局地宣布进入紧急状态。而波士顿地区上周四开始的暴风雪天气之后，周六凌晨波士顿市区出现了华氏零下6度（摄氏零下21度）的最低气温。

  • BCPA Ends 2013 with Indoors Photography Event and Lecture

    Boston, Jan. 6, 2014, — Boston Chinese Photographers’ Association (BCPA) wrapped up a year full of dramas and activities with a lecture at Framingham Public Library on Dec. 22, 2013. Over 20 members attended the lecture, and nine of them shared pictures they took in 2013.

  • 2014中国大学排行榜揭晓 北大连续七年居榜首、武大首次入五强

    （来自《大河报》）2013年12月30日，中国校友会网最新发布《2014中国大学评价研究报告》，这是中国校友会网大学研究团队连续第12年发布中国大学排行榜。 报告显示，北京大学连续7年蝉联中国第一，问鼎2014中国大学排行榜100强榜首;清华大学位居第二，上海交通大学跃居第三，比去年上升2个名次，复旦 大学屈居第四，武汉大学排名第五，首次进入全国五强，创历史最高排名。研究团队提出2014中国大学分类新标准，率先将毕业生质量纳入大学分类，35所大 学入围2014中国研究型大学。华中科技大学武昌分校、华中科技大学文华学院和吉林大学珠海学院位居2014中国独立学院排行榜前三强;湖南涉外经济学 院、北京城市学院和山东英才学院名列2014中国民办大学排行榜前三甲。值得关注的是，最新发布2014中国大学学科水平排行榜，清华大学排名第一，北京 大学名列第二，中国人民大学居第三。

  • 2013年国际青年学者东湖论坛华中科大成功举行

    【波士顿双语网综合报道】2013年底，来自海外的114位优秀青年学者齐聚华中科技大学，参加第二届国际青年学者东湖论坛。这些青年学者有着不同的学术背景和研究方向，他们结合各自研究领域就国际前沿科技的发展及热点开展了热烈的交流与讨论。

    据悉，国际青年学者东湖论坛旨在集聚海内外不同学术背景的海内外优秀青年学者，在国际前沿科技及热点研究领域展开交流与探讨。通过报告和讨论，提高跨学科思维意识和能力，促进国际学者之间的交流和合作，共同为解决国际前沿问题和建设可持续发展的未来而努力。本次论坛在12月28日的开幕式之后，分若干分论坛在华中科大的各个学院举行。
