    【编者按：本文的男主角是1980年代末、1990年代初的医学院大学生。湖北省随州市是中国的国家历史文化名城之一。市郊的曾侯乙墓曾经出土巨大编钟，为中国最重要的考古发现之一，古称隋县、隋州。】

    20多年前我还在读书，当时我是小班长，带着十几个同学下乡实习，去了随州。那时候武汉什么吃的都有，但是随州却是一个县城，晚上没有路灯。食堂炒菜还没有油，半年的时间经常饿得受不了，只好去餐馆点个小炒吃。

  • IEEE宣布2014届会士 “触摸科技”文化周叶永烈谈《十万个为什么》

    【波士顿华人双语网综合报道】就在美国的感恩节即将到来之际，全球最大的专业协会之一美国电气和电子工程师协会（IEEE）宣布了2014年新增会士（fellow）名单。在入选的来自全球的388名新会士中，有8名来自中国大陆的研究院校。另外，有12名香港和台湾的学者，以及数十名在海外工作的华人也入选2014届会士。完整的2014届会士名单请见IEEE网站：www.ieee.org/2014Fellowclass。

  • 陪审团判2400万赔偿金 华人家庭至少得到500万

    【波士顿华人双语网编译报道】上周，陪审团判决塔夫茨医学中心应该付给家住洛威尔（Lowell）的一个华人家庭2400万美元赔偿金，但根据双方事先的协议，9岁男孩爱德华·徐的父母将只能得到530万美元的赔偿金。这是近年来波士顿地区的陪审团做出的金额最高的赔偿金案例。

  • 2014 IEEE Fellows Include Twenty from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan

    Boston, Nov. 29, 2013, IEEE, the largest professional association for the advancement of technology in the world, announced the 2014 class of IEEE fellow just before the U.S. Thanksgiving Holiday this week. IEEE fellow is deemed as a prestigious distinction, reserved for IEEE members with extraordinary accomplishments.

  • 2013 ACDC Annual Meeting Looks Forward to One Greenway

    Boston, Nov. 20, 2013, — Over 250 guests attended Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC)’s annual meeting and dinner on Nov 12, 2013 at Hei La Moon restaurant in Chinatown. The theme of the evening was “A Hudson Street Reunion.” There were many guests with family connections to Hudson street, site of the highly anticipated One Greenway project.

  • 布雷迪 Vs. 曼宁NFL黄金时代的瑜亮情结

    【波士顿华人双语网综合报道】汤姆·布雷迪（Tom Brady）和佩顿·曼宁（Peyton Manning）是过去12年来美国职业橄榄球联盟（NFL）最亮的两颗明星，两人一共交锋14场，每次交锋都是媒体关注的焦点。而到底两人谁是更好的四分卫，也一直是媒体炒作的一个话题。如果从胜率和超级碗夺标的次数来看，布雷迪无疑是占据了上峰，可能是NFL历史上的最佳四分卫。“神奇小子”汤姆（terrific Tom）将永远是波士顿人的骄傲。

  • Obama Stopped “Deportation” of Hecklers during Speech on Immigration

    San Francisco, Nov. 25, 2013, — President Obama delivered a speech on immigration reform today at Betty Ong Chinese Recreation Center in San Francisco, California. The speech was briefly interrupted by two hecklers. Obama stopped the secret service agents from removing the hecklers, who yelled “Stop deportations!” repeatedly.
