  • Mayor Menino Kicks off 38th Annual First Night Boston

    Mayor Thomas M. Menino today held the city’s annual First Night public safety press conference, encouraging people to come to Boston to ring in the New Year during the 38th Annual First Night celebration. Officials from the Boston Police Department, Boston Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services and the MBTA reminded revelers to celebrate the holiday safely and encouraged visitors to take advantage of public transportation when traveling through the city.

  • CAAL to Host Chinese New Year Celebrations in Lexington

  • GBAAYSO to Present Christmas Concert at LHS

    Lexington, Mass., Dec. 10, 2013 — It was about two years ago, Asian Cultural Center Greater Boston Asian American Youth Symphony Orchestra (GBAAYSO) had its debut performance at National Heritage Museum in Lexington. This Saturday, GBAAYSO will return to Lexington with a Christmas concert that features Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 at Lexington High School (LHS) auditorium.

  • The Nutcracker by Commonwealth Ballet Comes to Regis College

    Boston, Dec. 9, 2013, — It’s that time of the year again. For years, you have to go to the theater district in downtown Boston to catch the holiday classic The Nutcracker. Now, Commonwealth Ballet Company (CBC) in Acton Mass. has brought a production of The Nutcracker to Metro West area. You can enjoy this wonderful production by talented young ballet dancers at Regis College in Weston, Mass. the weekend before Christmas.

  • World Renowned Pianist Yin Chengzong Returns to Carnegie Hall on Nov. 23

    New York, Nov. 19, 2013, — Yin Chengzong, one of the most renowned pianists in the world, is celebrating his 30th anniversary debut at Carnegie Hall. Mr. Yin returns to the stage for a solo performance on this Saturday, Nov. 23. Invited by Foundation for Chinese Performing Arts, Mr. Yin performed at NEC’s Jordan Hall in Boston on Nov. 15.

  • Lost Years Won Best Documentary and Best of the Best Awards at IFFM 2013

    New York, October 25, 2013 —- An epic documentary film “Lost Years”, directed by Kenda Gee and Tom Radford, was showcased during the eighth program of International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) 2013 at the Anthology Film Archives on Saturday, Oct. 19. At end of Oct. 20, Lost Years took home the award of “Best Documentary” and “Best of the Best” awards at IFFM 2013 .

  • Berklee’s Yazhi Guo, Winner of 2012 Hong Kong Best Artist Award

    Boston, Oct. 30, 2013, — Each year, Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC) presents the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards. There are seven winners for the prestigious Award for Best Artists for 2012. Yazhi Guo, who studies at Berklee College of Music, received the Best Artist Award for music category.

  • Chi-Sun Chan to Be Featured at Concord Band’s Fall Concert

    Concord, Mass. — The Concord Band is pleased that its own tuba player Chi-Sun Chan will be the featured soloist at its Fall Concert, by Request. Dr. Chan, a member of the Band since 2009, has been music director/conductor of the Greater Boston Chinese Cultural Association (GBCCA) Chinese Music Ensemble since 2002. He has chosen Capriccio for Tuba and Band by contemporary British composer Rodney Newton who has scored music for British films and TV, and was Music Consultant to the London Film School for 21 years.
