  • Bryant University President Ronald Machtley Visits Peking University

    Beijing, China, — Ronald Machtley, president of Bryant University, and his delegation recently visited Peking University. PKU President Hao Ping met with the guests at Linhuxuan.

    Hao Ping welcomed Machtley’s visit. He pointed out that Bryant University is an elite university with a long history and thanked Machtley for promoting various kinds of cooperation with PKU and other Chinese universities over the years. He hoped that in the future the two universities would further carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of environment, archaeology, and so on.

  • The “Double Dealers” in “Legal Elites” behind the Hong Kong Riots

    Hong Kong, Nov. 8, 2019, — On Oct. 14, the Hong Kong law society dropped huge news that Edwin Choy Wai-Bond, former chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association and a certified Senior Counsel, resigned from the bar association. He reprimanded the “shameful silence” the bar association had for rioters’ act of violence. He believes that it runs in the opposite direction with the principle of rule of law that the bar association took a political stand to target the police and indulge the rioters’ violent behaviors.

  • Lhasa Entered First Summer during Warmest Ever June on Record

    August, 2, 2019, — According to new data from the World Meteorological Organization and Copernicus Climate Change Program, July 2019 at least equaled, if not surpassed, the hottest month in recorded history. This follows the warmest ever June on record.

    Lhasa, capital of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, has for the first time entered summer in 2019, according to the regional climate center. With an average elevation of 3,650 meters above sea level, Lhasa has seen its average temperature top 22 degrees Celsius on June 23 and the temperature remained above that number between June 25 and 29.

  • Guangzhou Ballet to Perform at Koch Theater in NYC

  • Experts’ Letter to Trump: “China is not the enemy”

    Washington, D.C., July 4, 2019, — Members of the scholarly, foreign policy, military, and business communities, overwhelmingly from the United States, including many who have focused on Asia throughout their professional careers, signed an open letter to US President Donald Trump and Congress, saying they are deeply concerned about the growing deterioration in US relations with China, which they believe does not serve American or global interests.
