Boston, July 5, 2013, –The Seventh Anniversary Celebrating Banquet of National Asian Women’s Association (NAWA) of Massachusetts was held at Quincy China Pearl Restaurant in the evening of June 30, 2013. About 300 guests attended this banquet, including state Rep. Tackey Chan and Hung Goon, a representative for Malden Mayor Gary Christensen. First place winners of the inaugural Talent Contest of New England Youths competed for $300 cash prize.

About 500 people packed the auditorium and enjoyed a night full of wonderful music, dance, opera, kungfu and other Chinese cultural performances.

Hats off to the volunteers!
Lexington, Mass., March 19, 2013, (bostonese.com) — As part of the Lexington 300th Incorporation Weekend activities, the one-of-a-kind Dance around the World was held on March 16, 2013 at Lexington High School from 6:00-10:30 PM. The evening was packed with exciting segments. There were Classical/Folk dance performances where people could learn and practice some new dance moves from around the world. It was then followed by a high energy, DJ led dance party. LHS students led some of the popular dances. There was also a unique fusion dance that highlights how music bridges across cultures. There were cultural booths from local diverse communities, and attendees were able to enjoy delicious ethnic food.

Thanks to the over 300 performers and the event administration staff, it was a great teamwork, and it has demonstrated the talents and hard work provided by the NCLS families.

Malden, Mass. — Just a little over a year ago, Yan Lian was a student at South China Normal University, and Attila Dobak was studying singing in Italy. They might never have imaged that one day they would share the stage, singing a classic duet together. Famous for its world-class universities like Harvard and M.I.T., Boston is also becoming a magnet for talented young musicians and singers from around the world in recent years.
On Saturday, November 10, Soprano Yan Lian’s Boston debut concert was held at St. Paul’s Parish Church in Malden, Mass. About 200 people packed the historical church, and were in festival mood as the holiday season was just around the corner. They enjoyed the classic Western songs as well as favorite Chinese folk songs, like the Jasmine folk song from Jiangshu province and the Dragon Boat folk song from Hubei province.
