Boston, Dec. 5, 2018, — The Chinese embassy in Canada voiced its “firm opposition” to the reported arrest of Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of China’s Huawei Technologies today. The Canadian police, at the request of the US, arrested a Chinese citizen who did not violate any US or Canadian laws, the embassy said in a statement posted on its official website.

Boston Nonprofit CAHF to Sponsor 2019 Rose Parade Float “Harmony Through Union”
Boston, Oct. 28, 2018, — The Chinese American Heritage Foundation (CAHF), a community-driven organization in Boston Chinatown that promotes the recognition and appreciation of the historical contributions made by Chinese-Americans to the United States, is fielding a “Harmony Through Union” float for the 2019 Rose Parade in Pasadena.

Boston Kicks off 2018 Early Voting
BOSTON – Monday, October 22, 2018 – A day before World Series to start at Fenway Park, the City of Boston today began its two-week early voting period for the November 6, 2018 State Election. “VoteEarly Boston” runs through Friday, November 2, 2018, and City Hall is Boston’s main early voting site, with voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Voters are encouraged to enter City Hall through the North Side entrance to access the early voting location on the second floor.

Over the weekend, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced an upcoming proposed policy that would allow the government to deny green cards to immigrants who use public benefits, such as housing assistance, Medicaid and Medicare, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits – commonly called “food stamps” – and many more.
