  • “杀死每一个中国人”？迪斯尼的ABC电视必须道歉

    【波士顿华人双语网综合报道】ABC的脱口秀明星吉米·金梅尔（Jimmy Kimmel）在最近的一个晚间节目中，就政府关闭等话题同四位儿童展开讨论。当吉米金梅尔问到美国欠中国1.3万亿美元的债务问题时，一个男孩回答说：“杀死每一个中国人（kill everyone in China）。”吉米·金梅尔评论：“那是一个有趣的想法”，接着继续和孩子们讨论，好像这句话没有什么不妥的地方。ABC电视的编辑和主管们似乎也有同样的感受，选择播出这些种族主义和种族灭绝的言论。

  • “Kill Everyone in China”? Disney Lost Its Magic by Airing Genocidal Discussions on ABC

    In a recent episode of ABC’s Jimmy Ki­mmel Live, the host discussed with four kids of the government shutdown in the Kid’s Table segment. When Jimmy Ki­mmel asked the kids about what to do with the $1.3 trillion U.S. debt to China, one boy replied: “Kill everyone in China.” Jimmy Ki­mmel commented “that’s an interesting idea,” and went on to discuss more about this idea as if there was nothing wrong with it. The editors and managers of ABC must have felt the same way, and aired these racist and genocidal discussions on air.

  • 华人摄影师凭什么脱颖而出？

    今年六月,在麻州的Framingham 举办一场《No Limit》(中文意译为“艺术无限”)的艺术展览。这是西方近代最为时髦，风行世界的展览形式：在一个旧厂房里举办的包括油画，装置工艺，抽象美术，拼贴艺术，摄影，雕塑等等美，国人称为Fine Art现代艺术展览。

    大门入口的一个醒目的告示牌引用了著名华人摄影师黄定国先生的摄影作品《云山石海》 作为这次由全美国三百多位艺术家投稿而仅仅录取其中45幅作品的展览会的封面以及作为这次展览会的名帖（明信片）发行。而主办单位开设的网站www.FountainStreetFineArt.com 网址也印在这个明信片（名片）上。

  • Willy Wu and Betsy Pu Win Lincoln Labs National Education Competition

    Acton, Mass., Oct. 20, 2013, –Willy Wu of Acton Boxborough Regional High School and Betsy Pu of Lexington High School recently won the first place of the prestigious Lincoln Labs National Education Competition. They are also Kapparate CS03 students, and developed the winning application with Kapparate instructor Ben Pu.

  • 林游岚博士获新英格兰汉语教师协会终身成就奖

    【新英格兰汉语教师协会供稿】当地时间2013年10月5日，第二届新英格兰地区汉语教师协会（NECLTA）在罗德岛大学孔子学院举办。林游岚博士获得NECLTA终身成就奖。该奖项由罗德岛大学孔子学院院长、NECLTA会长何文潮博士颁发。林博士今年从波士顿公立学校退休。参加年会的教师们纷纷表达了他们对林博士的真诚感谢和赞赏。

  • The First-ever Taiwan IDEAS Day Boston Brings Brilliant Ideas

    Cambridge, Mass., October 18, 2013 — The first-ever Taiwan IDEADS Day Boston was held at Cambridge Innovation Center on October 17. Founders of eight start-up teams of Taiwanese origin delivered their pitches for an audience of investors, mentors and members of Boston’s start-up community who packed the conference room.

  • YES 8.0 and Marketing Workshop, A Busy Month at NECINA

    Boston, October, 17, 2013, –On Saturday, October 19 (9AM-5PM), the kickoff session of New England Chinese Information and Networking Association (NECINA) Marketing Workshop will be held at Cambridge Innovation Center at One Broadway in Cambridge. A couple weeks earlier, the Youth Entrepreneurship Service (YES) 8.0 had kick off session at the same building, with over 30 students in attendance.
