  • 纽约总领馆「金秋办证」本周抵达波士顿

    【波士顿双语网记者李强报道】中国驻纽约总领馆2018年「领事服务进社区进校园主题年」的第五轮活动「金秋办证」，本周将抵达波士顿。10月18日至20日，纽约总领馆工作人员将在本地开展系列办证活动，现场受理中国护照换发和旅行证申请。今年四月份，纽约总领馆侨务组组长朱家耀领事曾经带队到波士顿，为中国公民现场办证，受到侨胞的好评。

  • 联邦参议员候选人希瓦波士顿华埠拜票

    【波士顿双语网记者李强报道】在离11月6日的中期选举还有不到三周之际，印度裔联邦参议员候选人希瓦（Shiva Ayyadurai）和联合国战略智库研究员兼竞选经理袁绍御先生，一起亲临波士顿华埠拜票。他们与华人侨领举行会谈，希瓦博士诚恳地向在场的各界人士寻求支持。

Close to 600 guests, including candidate for governor State Treasurer Steve Grossman, candidate for Lt. Governor Cambridge City Councilor Leland Cheung, participated in the banquet.

  • Data Storage Pioneer Wins $1.4 Million Millennium Technology Prize

    San Jose, Calif. and Helsinki, April 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — IBM today announced that researcher and IBM Fellow, Dr. Stuart Parkin, is the winner of the prestigious Millennium Technology Prize, awarded every two years by the Technology Academy Finland (TAF), an independent foundation aimed at supporting scientific research and new technologies that will benefit humanity. Dr. Parkin is selected for his discovery and invention of the “spin valve,” which enabled a more than 1,000-fold increase in the ability of computer hard-disk drives to store data. The prize is worth 1 million Euros, or about 1.4 US dollars.

  • 东美旅行社帮顾客讨公道获感谢信

    【波士顿双语网特约记者李心茗2014年4月8日报道】现在不少人选择在网上购买机票，但是如果一旦行程有变化或者遇到突发事件的话，往往会感到以个人的力量难以应付，求助也没有门路。但是，如果通过旅行社订票的话，旅行社的工作人员会帮助您处理应对，免去不少麻烦。

    日前，家住波士顿的一对老年夫妇给波士顿双语网发来一封感谢信，感谢东美旅行社在他们被联合航空（UA）拒绝登机之后，全力帮助他们讨回公道，最后不但全额退回了机票款，还得到了1000元的赔偿金。
