    【波士顿双语网2014年3月1日综合报道】据新华社报道，中国西南城市昆明火车站3月1日晚间发生团伙持刀砍人暴力事件，至2日零时，至少28人死，100多人受伤。英国广播公司（BBC）的报道称有至少9名暴徒参加了暴力事件，其中5人被警方击毙。昆明警方已经封锁火车站附近的街区，搜索在逃的暴徒。

    没有来美国之前，听人们说，“美国人没有人情味”，“邻居老死不相往来”，“儿子到十八岁父母就不管了，儿女也不赡养父母”。到了盐湖城，才发现根本不是这么回事。

    早晨跑步，途中不认识的男女老少，遇到你都非常友善的打招呼，“嗨！”，“Good morning！”在山间小道上也是如此，绝无例外。在长沙早晨跑步，不认识的人擦肩而过，没有任何表示，更不用说山间小道上了。

  • Boston Homeowners Embrace Solar Power

    Boston, Feb. 28, 2014, — Mayor Martin J. Walsh today announced 106 Boston homeowners have signed contracts to install solar power through the 2013 Renew Boston Solarize program, a community bulk pricing program. A high rate of participation helped Renew Boston Solarize achieve its goal of 500 kilowatts (kW) of solar power and qualify for the lowest costs in the tiered pricing structure.

  • NSTAR电价上涨两成华人寻对策

    【波士顿双语网记者李强综合报道】2014新年，波士顿地区最大的电力和天然气公司NSTAR把家用电电费从7.51/kwh提高到9.33/kwh，涨幅高达24%。据报道，新英格兰地区缺乏运输天然气管道的容量，而本地区的各大电厂大多用天然气发电，是导致本次涨价的主要原因之一。NSTAR的电价可以在这个链接查询。

  • Stories Told by Liu Yandong, Vice Premier of China, at U of Chicago

    Liu Yandong, Vice Premier of the China, on her visit to Chicago, attended the University of Sino-US high-level roundtable meeting held at the University of Chicago in Nov. 2013. Vice Premier Liu attended the China Scholarship Council, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Later on that day, she visited the Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s hospital of Chicago and Mayor Rahm Emanuel gave her a welcome speech, dinner and finished the evening by attending a Chicago Bulls NBA basketball game together.

  • 波士頓生命河靈糧堂元宵聯歡平安喜樂

    【波士頓雙語網訊】週日(2/16)下午一點在艾克頓鎮的波士頓生命河靈糧堂(45 Nagog Park in Acton, MA)所舉行的元宵節聯歡會有200多人參加, 會中有由在安多福（N. Andover）镇的China Blossom餐廳，新近牛頓市新開張的珠媽廚房餐廳，以及蘇玉娥姊妹所贊助的各式家鄉美食。元宵節當然要有燈籠，大廳里掛起的數十個大紅燈籠更是增添了節日氣氛。
