Dear Friends,
Happy Lunar New Year – Year of Horse! It’s a special time to celebrate, to connect in, and to serve, this community of ours, for the harvest from the past, and the success and glory yet to come! As our proud tradition, the American Chinese Medical Association (ACMA) will present our 4th annual Boston Asian Health and Community Service (BAHA) on February 1st, 2014. In the past years, many have heard from top clinicians from local hospitals at this event, talking about important topics in healthy living and common disease areas. This year, there will be one-on-one consultations with more of these successful and experienced doctors to discuss one’s own health and concerns, with open access, at no cost, in the beautiful language of Chinese!

Qinghua Peter Lu Is Remembered as Loving Father

Nashua, New Hampshire, Jan. 16, 2014, — Many people in the greater Nashua Chinese community were shocked to learn that 52-year-old Qinghua Peter Lu of Hollis N.H. passed away on Monday, Jan. 13 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. According to the hospital, Mr. Lu had suffered from a heart attack.

Gov. Patrick and Mayor Walsh Urge Rep. Henriquez to Resign after Conviction

Boston, Jan. 15, 2015, — State Representative Carlos Henriquez was convicted on two counts of assault and battery by a six-member jury today. Mr. Henriquez will serve a six-month jail sentence after the conviction. Henriquez is accused of hitting girlfriend Katherine Gonzalves in an incident in Arlington.

MELBOURNE, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) — Two-time finalist Li Na saved a match point before clawing back to record a three-set victory over Czech Lucie Safarova in the third round of the Australian Open here on Friday.
The Chinese fourth seed, a finalist in 2011 and last year, won 1-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 in two and a half hours to set up a clash with Russian 22nd seed Ekaterina Makarova for a place in the quarter-finals.
