  • Iris Zhao Wins Gold at 2014 U.S. Figure Skating Championships

    Boston, Jan. 9, 2014, — You just cannot predict how your coach would react after you won the national championship. “There are no words to express how proud I am of Iris today. US Juvenile Champion! Such a tremendous day with a wonderful girl who’s light filled the building today:)” wrote Kristen Weir, professional figure skating coach at Colonial Figure Skating Club on Facebook. She also changed her Facebook profile picture to the one below.

  • Chinese Tycoon Chen Guangbiao Explains His NY Times Bid

    Following the announcement on his desire to buy The New York Times last week, Chinese billionaire Chen Guangbiao again drew media’s attention by announcing his plan to spend over US$1 million on two severely burned and disfigured Falun Gong self-immolators for their medical treatment.

    Held in a hotel in Manhattan, New York, the press conference kicked off by Chen singing a song composed by himself. Chen then proceeded to share his point of views on life and wealth, followed by the real announcements of the press conference today.

    Boston, Jan. 6, 2014, — Boston Chinese Photographers’ Association (BCPA) wrapped up a year full of dramas and activities with a lecture at Framingham Public Library on Dec. 22, 2013. Over 20 members attended the lecture, and nine of them shared pictures they took in 2013.
