  • Empow Studios Empower Kids for Technology Economy of Tomorrow

    Lexington, Mass., Jan. 23, 2013, — I started to do some research on local technology classes for kids when my 5-year-old son told me that he wanted to become a robot builder a few weeks ago. A friend of mine mentioned Empow Studios to me. I made a visit to Empow Studios in downtown Lexington a couple days ago, and had a brief interview with its founder Mr. Leonid Tunik.

  • Lexington Chinese Community Reaches out to Families of Tragic Accident, Calls for Donations

    Lexington, Mass., Jan. 6, 2013, — While we are celebrating the new year with family and friends and feeling grateful for what we have, it is also time to think about the less fortunate people. With a very saddened heart, we’d like to tell you about an unspeakable tragedy involving a former Lexington resident and her relatives as we ask the community to reach out and help the families.

    Lexington, Mass., Jan. 3, 2013, — When I browsed through the pages of Boston Globe waiting for my car to be serviced on the first work day of 2014, the picture of my friend Weidong Wang and his family on page 3 of the Globe West section caught my eyes. Weidong Wang and his wife Faith Lin are members of Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL).

  • CAAL to Host Chinese New Year Celebrations in Lexington

    Boston, Dec. 27, 2014, — It’s been a busy year for members of Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL). They have volunteered in the Lexington 300 celebrations, and a few of them successfully ran for Lexington town meeting member seats.

  • GBAAYSO to Present Christmas Concert at LHS

    Lexington, Mass., Dec. 10, 2013 — It was about two years ago, Asian Cultural Center Greater Boston Asian American Youth Symphony Orchestra (GBAAYSO) had its debut performance at National Heritage Museum in Lexington. This Saturday, GBAAYSO will return to Lexington with a Christmas concert that features Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 at Lexington High School (LHS) auditorium.

  • Lucky 8! Lexington 8th-grader Alec Sun Wins 2013 Raytheon MATHCOUNTS National Champion

    WASHINGTON, May 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Alec Sun of Lexington, Mass., won the 2013 Raytheon MATHCOUNTS® National Competition today at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C. The winning Mathlete® answered the following math problem in less than 45 seconds to be crowned the National Champion:

  • A Celebration of History and Diversity — Pictures and Video from Dance around the World at Lexington High School

    Lexington, Mass., March 19, 2013, (bostonese.com) — As part of the Lexington 300th Incorporation Weekend activities, the one-of-a-kind Dance around the World was held on March 16, 2013 at Lexington High School from 6:00-10:30 PM. The evening was packed with exciting segments. There were Classical/Folk dance performances where people could learn and practice some new dance moves from around the world. It was then followed by a high energy, DJ led dance party. LHS students led some of the popular dances. There was also a unique fusion dance that highlights how music bridges across cultures. There were cultural booths from local diverse communities, and attendees were able to enjoy delicious ethnic food.

  • Dance around the World Headlines More Than 30 Weekend Events in Lexington, March 16-17

    Lexington, Mass., March 18, 2013, (bostonese.com) — This past weekend, Lexington celebrated the 300th anniversary of incorporation with an exciting program of over 30 events. Dance around the World(DAW) was held on Saturday evening at Lexington High School. Over 1,000 residents showed up to enjoy different styles of dance and music, and more than 100 dancers, cultural booth demonstrators and food vendors showcased their cultures during the occasion.
